AFL Partnered with Crypto.com in a new Sponsorship Partnership for the Digital Era

The AFL is eager to jump on board with cryptocurrency, inking a new sponsorship deal with one of the world's largest crypto exchanges.

With the announcement of a five-year agreement with bitcoin trading app Crypto.com, the AFL has ventured into uncharted terrain. Crypto.com is now a prominent partner of both the AFL and the AFLW as a result of this new arrangement.

While more information is forthcoming, don’t be shocked if we see official AFL NFTs (non-fungible tokens), digital trade cards of your favourite players, and possibly the league’s own digital currency in the future.

The NBA, for example, already has a comprehensive NFT programme called Top Shot that allows fans to buy, sell, and trade digital in-game highlights known as moments.’
